GUESS MY SPECIAL THING

It looks like shiny and wooden. It feels smooth and powerful. The sound is very beautiful. It is currently one of the most popular instruments in the world. It has a round body and a neck with six strings. The strings are held down on the neck and plucked or strummed at the larger part of the body. There are also many divisions on the neck called frets that inform the player where each half step is. Each string only contains the same twelve tones you know about those are repeated over and over again. Each consecutive fret increases the tone with one half step. By using a combination of both different strings and frets, it is possible to form any scale following the correct pattern of half and whole steps. You just have to remember where the whole and the half steps are in the scale.
The physical characteristics of this thing are easy to be identified and compared. A cutaway or wood binding are qualities which make you easy to do decisions whether you like or dislike them. The sound qualities of this thing are much harder to discern and evaluate. In order to accurately describe the characteristics of this thing sound, you must first be familiar with the nomenclature used to explain the sound qualities. Its sound has many facets. Here is a brief overview of the terminology most often used when discussing the sound.
Tone is the quality, which makes it to be different from various sound makers. When you set a string into motion, the string has a fundamental vibration, as well as many smaller vibrations, called overtones. Each of them has their own unique combination of fundamental and overtones also. That's what makes its sound unique. The volume of this thing directly is related to the quality of the top wood, the top bracing, and the rigidity of the back and sides. The type of the wood used to make this thing is probably the single most influential factor to its tone. There are many varieties of different woods to choose from.
The most important is learning to play can be both exciting and challenging, but most of all it should be fun. To match their harmonies is a challenge for someone who wants to play this thing. However, if we can match the harmony, the sound will be heard so beautiful. Many people like to play this thing on their leisure time. Overally, can you guess this thing??!!......

ENGLISH WELCOMING DAYS 2008

Hi, everybody !!.. Now, I want to tell you about my experiences in EWD 2008 at Wonogondang Camping Ground. EWD was an event that was hold especially for all students of PBI 2008. The purposes of this event were to strengthen friendship, solidarity, and familiarity among all students of PBI 2008. This event was begun on August 30th, 2008 with Pre – EWD. Pre – EWD was like a briefing before we joined the true of EWD 2008. In the Pre – EWD, we were informed some instructions or guidelines during EWD. EWD 2008 itself was held on September 7th and 8th, 2008. It was begun at 7.30 a.m. We gathered in Sanata Dharma University, Mrican, exactly in AULA. At 2.00 p.m., we together went to Wonogondang Camping Ground. We went there by truck. Although we went by truck, we felt happy. We sang together during the journey. After 1 hour, finally we arrived.
In Wonogondang, we had many activities, for example: “yel-yel” competition, talent show, tracking, outbound games, etc. After we arrived, we went to tend. Then, we had 1 hour to take a bath. After taking a bath, we gathered in front of the stage. We sang jingle of EWD 2008. After that, the activities were continued, such as: “yel-yel” competition, talent show, and tracking until 6.00 a.m. In the talent show, our group showed a comedy drama. After the talent show, we had a break-time for 1 hour to return our freshness. I used that time to sleep. After having a break-time, we continued our activity with tracking. My group, group 6, tracked with group 10 together. But, we had to wait for about 2 hours before we went tracking. It’s because it had been scheduled. We had tracking for about 3 hours and it finished around 6.00 a.m. I felt sleepy. However, there were many activities again. We didn’t sleep along that night. That night was also very cold. Fortunately, I wore sweater. Besides, there was a bonfire so that I felt warm although the air was very cold. The activities along the night were so tiring.
We had a break-time after tracking. After that, we continued our activities. We had outbound games. In this part, it needed cooperation because without that we couldn’t finish all sections of this game. We played for about 2 hours. It was very fun. We also made many jokes along this game. We laughed when one of us made a joke. It was very amusing. After we played outbound games, we had a time to take a bath. After we took a bath, we gathered again in front of the stage and this was the waited moment. This was the waited moment because we would hear the winner of all the competitions. The announcement was started from the winner of the talent show, the “yel-yel” competition, and up to the best group along EWD 2008. Unfortunately, my group didn’t get one of the awards, but it’s never mind. The most important thing was we had struggled and we had done our best. Finally, we had finished our activities in Wonogondang. In the end of EWD 2008, we were requested to write down impressions during EWD 2008 about the activities, the committee, etc.
This event had given many impressions for all the students of PBI 2008 especially for me. This event made me know one another especially among the students of my study program (PBI). Before EWD, I didn’t know all my friends in PBI well. Because of EWD 2008, I knew many new friends. Moreover, this event had strengthened our friendship, solidarity, and familiarity among all the students of PBI not only with the students of PBI 2008 but also with seniors of PBI and certainly with all lecturers of PBI. Besides, we also knew more about our study program. I think those are my experiences during EWD 2008 and thank you for reading this.
BYE….!!!!...
